All prints are made-to-order and will require one to two weeks’ production time before being shipped. Each order will be acknowledged after payment has been received to confirm the shipping date. To customers who order prints of the same image subsequent to their original order, there may be slight variations in image density and/or contrast when compared to the initial print. If exact matching prints are desired, these should be ordered at the same time.
All prints are shipped flat, durably mounted on high quality backing board with two inch borders top and sides and a five inch border at bottom.
Custom Matting and Framing crafted to fit the Mount Board Size shown will be required to complete the presentation. The bottom border will show below the lower right corner of the image the photographer’s signature. Due to slight size variations please await receipt of your mounted print before ordering custom matting and framing from your local vendor.

Delaware and Hudson 4-6-2 Pacific Engine No. 600, Oneota, New York, August, 1947
A superb photograph of Delaware and Hudson 4-6-2 “Pacific” Engine Number 600 with a passenger consist at Oneota, New York, taking on water. This engine was equipped with “elephant ears”–smoke deflectors, that improve the forward visibility for the engineer by lifting the smoke above the engine when it was at speed. It is very likely that a professional photographer took this image, as the sun angle on the engine is optimal, and the sharpness exceeds that of most vintage photographs made on roll film cameras available in the 1940’s.
Having a date and a place for a vintage Ernest Roberts railroad photograph greatly adds to the value and authenticity of the image.
Though the original roll film negative of this scene is not suitable for dark room printing, I have been able to get an excellent digital scan of it and retouch a few minor imperfections. Prints will be of excellent quality.
