All prints are made-to-order and will require one to two weeks’ production time before being shipped. Each order will be acknowledged after payment has been received to confirm the shipping date. To customers who order prints of the same image subsequent to their original order, there may be slight variations in image density and/or contrast when compared to the initial print. If exact matching prints are desired, these should be ordered at the same time.
All prints are shipped flat, durably mounted on high quality backing board with two inch borders top and sides and a five inch border at bottom.
Custom Matting and Framing crafted to fit the Mount Board Size shown will be required to complete the presentation. The bottom border will show below the lower right corner of the image the photographer’s signature. Due to slight size variations please await receipt of your mounted print before ordering custom matting and framing from your local vendor.

Starting at the famed Bridal Veil Falls Power Plant, known officially as the Smuggler-Union Hydroelectric Power Plant, the trail to Blue Lakes offers stunning views to the north of the San Juan Range above Telluride, Colorado. The San Juan Mountains, many would argue, are Colorado’s most jagged, dramatic, and distinctive peaks. The power plant’s completion in 1907 provided power for nearby mining operations as well as Telluride, making this mountain community one of the earliest electrified cities in the U.S. Bridal Veil Falls is the tallest waterfall in Colorado.
The trail to Blue Lakes begins at 10,400 feet and ascends to 12,220 feet in a bit over three miles. It’s a challenging hike for anyone, but especially for a photographer carrying a load of heavy camera gear. The rewards for one’s photographic pursuits are countless views such as this. The imaging possibilities in this area are endless, attracting hundreds of serious photographers every year pursuing at least one special shot. Add the extra dimension of fall colors, and this trail becomes one of the “must see’s” for thousands of hikers as well.
Taken with a Nikkor 16-85mm f3.5-5.6 G lens on a Nikon D7000 at 28mm, this late afternoon view of the distant San Juans with abundant fall foliage in the foreground, signals that autumn is well underway at my estimated elevation of 11,200 feet.
