All prints are made-to-order and will require one to two weeks’ production time before being shipped. Each order will be acknowledged after payment has been received to confirm the shipping date. To customers who order prints of the same image subsequent to their original order, there may be slight variations in image density and/or contrast when compared to the initial print. If exact matching prints are desired, these should be ordered at the same time.
All prints are shipped flat, durably mounted on high quality backing board with two inch borders top and sides and a five inch border at bottom.
Custom Matting and Framing crafted to fit the Mount Board Size shown will be required to complete the presentation. The bottom border will show below the lower right corner of the image the photographer’s signature. Due to slight size variations please await receipt of your mounted print before ordering custom matting and framing.

US Navy P-2V Neptune Anti-Submarine Warfare Patrol Aircraft, Naval Air Station, Saufley Field, Florida, January 21, 1967.
The P2V Neptune was a hybrid-engine aircraft built for the specific purpose of anti-submarine warfare. Both propeller and jet engine driven, this aircraft detected submerged submarines through a variety of electronic means, often on hours-long patrols. First developed at the end of WWII, the last Neptunes began to be retired from active service in the early 1970’s. Surplus P-2V airframes were refitted for fire fighting, but the safety of the aircraft for this high-stress objective came into serious question with the fatal crashes of seven fire-fighting Neptunes over a twenty-year period ending in 2012. A very small number exist today for airshows. The four-engine turboprop P-3 Orion, a Lockheed Electra derivative, began replacing the P-2V for ASW operations in 1962. In 2013, the twin jet engine P-8 Poseidon gradually began replacing the P-3 Orion as the front-line ASW aircraft. The P-8 is a Boeing 737 derivative, and it marks a quantum leap in speed, range, loiter time, and other advanced ASW capabilities. Prior to the P-2V during WWII, the PBY Catalina carried out the navy’s anti-submarine mission using mostly human surveillance, as electronic detection means were not yet in existence.
