All prints are made-to-order and will require one to two weeks’ production time before being shipped. Each order will be acknowledged after payment has been received to confirm the shipping date. To customers who order prints of the same image subsequent to their original order, there may be slight variations in image density and/or contrast when compared to the initial print. If exact matching prints are desired, these should be ordered at the same time.
All prints are shipped flat, durably mounted on high quality backing board with two inch borders top and sides and a five inch border at bottom.
Custom Matting and Framing crafted to fit the Mount Board Size shown will be required to complete the presentation. The bottom border will show below the lower right corner of the image the photographer’s signature. Due to slight size variations please await receipt of your mounted print before ordering custom matting and framing.

Maroon Bells “The Palisades” in Alpenglo nr. Aspen, Colorado, December,1974
If one looks from a position at the edge of Maroon Lake towards the north of the Maroon Bells the distinctive “Maroon Formation Mudstone,” iron-stained sedimentary rock, from which these mountains get their name is evident elsewhere at the spectacular “Palisades,” a series of dramatic pinnacles. More of this mudstone rock appears near eponymous Redstone in the Crystal River Valley, a thirty-five-mile drive from here. Seen on a wintery day from Maroon Creek Road at twilight as the moon rises to the east, the Palisades take on more subtle hues than typically seen in morning sunlight. A Hasselblad 500C equipped with a Carl Zeiss 80mm f2.8 Planar lens was used with Kodak film to make this image using a lengthy exposure time and the full f2.8 aperture of the lens. What has always caused me to chuckle is that the same “Maroon Formation Mudstone” iron-stained sedimentary rock is called, “maroon” in Aspen and “red” in Redstone. It’s the same crumbly maroonish/reddish rock either place!
