All prints are made-to-order and will require one to two weeks’ production time before being shipped. Each order will be acknowledged after payment has been received to confirm the shipping date. To customers who order prints of the same image subsequent to their original order, there may be slight variations in image density and/or contrast when compared to the initial print. If exact matching prints are desired, these should be ordered at the same time.
All prints are shipped flat, durably mounted on high quality backing board with two inch borders top and sides and a five inch border at bottom.
Custom Matting and Framing crafted to fit the Mount Board Size shown will be required to complete the presentation. The bottom border will show below the lower right corner of the image the photographer’s signature. Due to slight size variations please await receipt of your mounted print before ordering custom matting and framing.

Moonscape Overlook Image No. 3, west of Hanksville, Utah, May 26, 2024
The third of three images of this dramatic scene taken over the course of an hour beginning at 4:45pm.
There’s not much debate as to which of the three images is the most visually impactful. Late light/long shadows have made every element in this image more interesting–from the relief on the near foreground shale skree to the middle foreground canyon floor, and finally to the distant Henry Mountains.
Another benefit has accrued from the lengthening shadows in this image. The shadows create a pattern of repetition that leads the eye into the scene and gives the Henry Mountains more visual connection to the foreground moonscape.
Long shadows are often a landscape photographer’s most effective tool in creating context and connection of the various elements in a scene.
As long as the black and white photographer’s skill in exposing and developing film allows for the proper capture of the long tonal scale of this scene, the rich shadow detail enhances the image and invites the viewer’s attention and scrutiny.
