All prints are made-to-order and will require one to two weeks’ production time before being shipped. Each order will be acknowledged after payment has been received to confirm the shipping date. To customers who order prints of the same image subsequent to their original order, there may be slight variations in image density and/or contrast when compared to the initial print. If exact matching prints are desired, these should be ordered at the same time.
All prints are shipped flat, durably mounted on high quality backing board with two inch borders top and sides and a five inch border at bottom.
Custom Matting and Framing crafted to fit the Mount Board Size shown will be required to complete the presentation. The bottom border will show below the lower right corner of the image the photographer’s signature. Due to slight size variations please await receipt of your mounted print before ordering custom matting and framing from your local vendor.

Wilson Peak above Schmidt Ranch, nr. Telluride, Colorado, September 26, 2024
Mighty Wilson Peak at the height of fall colors dominates an expansive untouched view west of Telluride, Colorado. Barely visible at lower left is a fence line on the century-old Schmidt Ranch, backed by a succession of aspen forests that are, in turn, followed by a finale of conifers that grace Wilson Peak’s foothills all the way to tree line. A 450mm f9 Nikkor lens on my seventy-five year old Linhof Technika 5×7 camera was the most suitable lens for a grand scene such as this. Normal or wide angle lenses would not have done justice to the enormity of this mountain. High early afternoon sun made this photograph difficult, as back-lit clouds at this time of day can be daunting challenges for exposure control. Yet, this light direction also provided intense back-lighting to the foreground aspens, giving them brilliance. Proper film exposure and development control and dark room printing technique solve the dilemma of where scene light values are placed on the Zone System scale in a high contrast scene such as this.
Interestingly, there is also a Mt. Wilson in this area of Colorado, not to be confused with Wilson Peak seen here.
